Dr. Julie A. Galvin, PhD

PSYCHOLOGIST

Dr. Galvin is a Fully Licensed Psychologist in the State of Michigan and she is also a Nationally Certified School Psychologist (NCSP). In addition, Dr. Galvin is an Adjunct Specialist at Michigan State University in the Department of Counseling, Educational Psychology, and Special Education. Dr. Galvin has been a field supervisor, training doctoral students and other graduate students in the field of psychology for more than 20 years. She works with children, adolescents, and adults in the areas of therapy as well as assessment. She works with clients who seek assistance on a variety of issues. spanning the range from those who are adjusting to changes in their life, anxiety, and depression.  She also employs life-coaching techniques so that her clients can create a vision for their lives, set goals, and achieve their aspirations, while learning how to maintain balance in their lives. 

Dr. Elizabeth Snyder, PhD

Psychologist

Dr. Snyder has experience supporting children, teens, and adults with ADHD, ASD, depression, anxiety, ODD, and more. She is particularly passionate about helping clients of all ages who display ADHD-like symptoms and anxiety. Caregiver Coaching is another favorite aspect of her job. By working with the caregivers of a child/teen, she helps families create a research-based plan to improve behaviors and reduce family stress. Dr. Snyder also utilizes her background as a School Psychologist to help parents and children who may be struggling with school. She has expertise in navigating 504 plans and IEPs, as well as special education evaluations from the preschool to college level.

Kathleen O’Shea, PhD

Psychologist

Dr. Kathleen O’Shea is a counseling psychologist who specializes in supporting adolescents, young adults, and midlife adults through individual, couples, family, and group therapy, as well as psychological assessment, consultation, and supervision. She has particular expertise in helping clients navigate complex trauma, dissociation, and anxiety, with a strong commitment to serving LGBTQIA+ and BIPOC communities. In addition to her clinical work, she is an active member of the American Psychological Association and its divisions for Counseling Psychology and the Psychology of Women. Dr. O’Shea values both in-person and virtual care, prioritizes community outreach and education, and brings warmth and cultural sensitivity to her practice. 

Dr. Emily L. Sportsman, PhD

Psychologist

Dr. Sportsman is a Licensed Psychologist and Nationally Certified School Psychologist (NCSP) who works with adolescents and adults experiencing anxiety, school stress, life transitions, emotional difficulties, and challenges related to learning and executive functioning. She provides therapy, psychoeducational assessment, and parent support using a warm, collaborative, and practical approach tailored to each client’s needs. Dr. Sportsman also has extensive experience supporting students and families in navigating school systems, including 504 Plans and special education services.

 

Talar Bagdasarian, MA

Community Outreach Coordinator

Talar specializes in supporting children, teenagers, and adults dealing with depression, anxiety, behavioral issues, body-image concerns, and social-emotional well-being. Her therapeutic approach is deeply client-centered, prioritizing individual needs and goals. Talar integrates cognitive and behavioral techniques to create personalized treatment plans, fostering empowerment and active engagement in the healing process. Taking a person-centered approach, Talar’s goal is to provide emotional support and share her professional opinion, while still fostering the idea that the individual knows themselves best and can arrive at their own unique solutions. 

Cindi Lonick, MA

Group Experience Program Coordinator

With over 15 years of experience, Cindi specializes in diagnostic assessments of learning disorders, autism, anxiety, and other social-emotional and behavioral difficulties. Her background in School and Community Psychology and Educational Psychology, coupled with certifications as a School Psychologist and Board Certified Behavior Analyst, equips her to navigate the complexities of education systems and provide tailored interventions to meet individual needs.

Troy Marks II, MA

Psychologist

Troy’s therapeutic approach is characterized by a blend of humanistic and psychopathological methodologies, rooted in empathy, acceptance, and a deep understanding of the complexities of the human psyche. By employing a holistic  framework, he endeavors to create a supportive and empowering environment wherein children, teenagers, and adults can explore their thoughts, feelings, and experiences with authenticity and trust.

Driven by a genuine passion for facilitating positive change and personal growth, Troy is dedicated to guiding individuals of all ages towards greater self-awareness, resilience, and well-being. 

Madelynn “Max” Carney, MA

Psychologist

Max believes that therapy should be as unique as each individual. She collaborates with clients to create a personalized plan that matches their needs and goals. Using a blend of Humanistic, Gestalt, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), along with Motivational Interviewing, Max helps clients build effective tools for managing stress, improving emotional regulation, and enhancing focus and confidence. She works with clients experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, and more. 

Jared C. Bonnici, MA

Psychologist

Jared has a strong belief in the power of clients to make change in their own lives, as well as the integral importance the client-therapist relationship plays in helping make those changes last and thrive. Jared works with individuals, couples, and families. He approaches therapy with a clear sense of integrity, authenticity, and positive intent. He began his career running group therapy sessions for all age groups and a wide array of populations dealing with diverse presenting problems ranging from substance abuse and trauma to personality and eating disorders. 

Joyce Kuribayashi MS

Psychologist

Joyce has worked in outpatient counseling providing psychological testing and therapy and patients with with chronic pain. She has also facilitated substance abuse groups and created anxiety groups for mothers.

Her priority as a therapist is to empower her clients by creating a safe environment built on value, respect, and empathy. She uses an integrated approach built on principles of cognitive-behavioral theories (e.g., CBT, ACT, DBT), psychodynamic therapy, neuropsychology, and positive psychology. 

Joyce is also fluent in Mandarin and speaks conversational Japanese.

Abirami “Abi” Suthan, MS

Psychologist

Abi’s therapeutic approach blends evidence-based care with a health psychology lens, emphasizing the connection between mind and body. She has supported individuals navigating learning differences, ADHD, brain injuries, and other cognitive challenges through both neuropsychological and psychological assessments. Her master’s thesis on suicide-related beliefs with South Asian Americans grounds her work in cultural sensitivity, inspiring her to create a space where all identities, experiences, and stories are fully welcome and supported. Guided by curiosity and collaboration, Abi strives to explore each individual’s unique experiences to understand who they are now and how that connects to where they want to be.

Aya Aldhalimi, MA

Psychologist

Aya holds a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology with a concentration in Applied Behavior Analysis from the Michigan School of Psychology. She is currently working on earning her Doctorate (PsyD) from Michigan School of Psychology. Aya is passionate about supporting individuals on their journey to emotional health. Aya has also spent time working as a behavior technician with children on the autism spectrum and is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). She has experience using Applied Behavior Analysis to help clients develop functional skills, reduce challenging behaviors, and achieve independence in daily activities.

Connor O’Keefe, MA

Psychologist

Connor specializes in working with children, teenagers, and adults who experience anxious feelings, depressive moods, low motivation, poor emotional regulation, and difficulties navigating social lives. His therapeutic approach blends cognitive-behavioral theories with humanistic approaches in order to help clients identify their own goals, create plans to work toward these goals, and achieve a deeper understanding of themselves. Through a collaborative and supportive process, he encourages clients to strengthen their self-awareness and cultivate a more compassionate, balanced understanding of their thoughts, emotions, and experiences, empowering them to respond to difficulties with greater confidence, flexibility, and self-acceptance.

Angela Davis-Moore

Practicum Student Psychologist

Angie works with children, adolescents, and adults using a strength-based approach to support growth and positive change. She is dedicated to empowering individuals; using a collaborative approach, and by helping to build practical skills for managing stress & life challenges. She guides individuals in practicing adaptive coping mechanisms, and enhancement in self-confidence and self-esteem. Angie creates a compassionate space where individuals can explore their thoughts, emotional and behavioral responses while gaining the tools they need for personal progress.

Sarah Rea, MA, MEd, TLLP

Psychologist

Sarah has more than 25 years of experience working in the educational setting, initially as a teacher and currently as a school psychologist. Sarah specializes in the diagnostic assessment of learning disorders and autism, as well as helping families navigate the confusing and often frustrating process of obtaining help for their children at school. She is well-versed in school procedures, practices, and special education laws. In her free time, Sarah enjoys spending time with her husband and four daughters, their cat Max, and close friends. 

Azari Haygood, MA

Psychologist

Azari began her career in the mental health field working with adolescents and adults with traumatic brain injuries and co-occurring substance use disorders. While obtaining her masters degree, her practicum focused on neuropsychological testing and counseling to families of neurodivergent children. Upon completion of her graduate studies, Azari began her career in testing and providing psychotherapy services. She acknowledges that psychological testing can be an intimidating concept, but in reality, it is a powerful tool designed to help that individual. She views clients as a person first and foremost, while acknowledging their diagnosis for treatment planning purposes. Using a person centered approach allows her to acknowledge a diagnosis, while understanding that the role a diagnosis plays in someone’s life will vary from person to person. 

Geoffrey VanGorder, Psy.S, MCSP

Psychologist

Geoff currently works as a Michigan-certified School Psychologist for a local school district and as a testing psychologist for Galvin Growth Group. In the schools, Geoff spends most of the time evaluating students to determine if there is a need for special education and or school accommodations, as well as developing Individualized Education Plans. For Galvin Growth Group, he works to help individuals and families by testing to determine if there may be the presence of impacting diagnoses such as ADHD, ASD, learning disabilities, anxiety, and depression. 

Christina DeGrand

Christina uses evidence-based practice and explicit instruction to address language and articulation deficits. She strives to make therapy fun and engaging, while still challenging the client to make progress.

Suzanne Biermann
MA CCC-SLP

Speech-Language Pathologist

Mrs. Biermann is a fully licensed speech-language pathologist in the state of Michigan and she is
nationally certified by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA). She has worked in a variety of therapeutic settings in Kansas, Pennsylvania, Iowa, and Michigan. Mrs. Biermann has been a clinical fellow supervisor for the past 5 years.

She loves spending time with her family including her grandson hanging out or traveling. In her free time, she is an avid reader and active genealogy researcher.

HR Generalist & Administrative Assistant

Flavia is a SHRM-CP–certified HR professional with strong experience supporting psychological and mental-health practices. She streamlines operations, strengthens team communication, and helps create a collaborative, patient-centered work environment that allows clinicians to focus on exceptional care. Flavia speaks fluent Portuguese and English and advanced German, skills she developed through extensive travel and years living in Brazil, Germany, and the United States. Curious and adventurous, she loves exploring new places and, in her free time, enjoys hiking, discovering nature, and sharing fun experiences with her family and friends.

Carolina Moraes

Intake Specialist

Carolina is originally from Brazil, where she worked as a Psychologist specializing in the humanistic approach focused on supporting adults in their personal growth, with additional experience in Human Resources, focusing on recruitment and development. She combines empathy and organization in her work, using her background to connect new clients with therapists, facilitating a thoughtful and supportive match. She speaks English, Portuguese, and Spanish, and loves being in touch with different cultures as well as spending time in nature with her husband and pets.

Lexie the Therapy Dog

Certified Therapy Dog

Lexie is G3’s Certified Therapy Dog. She is a Mini Bernedoodle and was born in the Spring of 2021. She is a 24 pound ball of happiness.   She is certified as a Therapy Dog by the Alliance of Therapy Dogs and has also been awarded the credentials of Canine Good Citizen and Community Canine (CGCA) by the American Kennel Club.

Marissa Valentini

Office & Therapy Dog Assistant

Marissa is an upperclassman at Northville High School and belongs to the National Honor Society. She plans to study psychology at a university, and has already taken multiple psychology classes in school for college credit. She’s also the founder and president of the school’s Dyslexia Awareness Club, a member of the American Sign Language Club, and mentors middle school students in competitive speech. During her downtime, she crochets – and sells her creations at art fairs and through special orders – and binge watches her favorite shows.

Brenda Snellenberger

Medical Billing

Brenda is the Owner of Lakeshore Medical Billing LLC and provides insurance billing services to Galvin Growth Group.  She has worked in the healthcare industry for 27 years and owned her Billing Service business for over 20 years.  Brenda has extensive behavioral health billing experience and a strong accounting background.   In her spare time she enjoys the beach, reading, walking/hiking and traveling with her husband and children.

Barbara Stump

Barbara Stump is an artist and an art educator currently residing in Traverse City, Michigan. She has over 30 years of art teaching experience kindergarten through 12th grade. Barb earned her Bachelor’s Degree from Central Michigan University and her Master’s Degree is from Michigan State University. She taught dual enrollment art classes for Kendall College of Art and Design of Ferris State University; Drawing and Painting at Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp; portfolio workshops; and other art events for adults.
