Psychologist:

Independent Contractor Position Opening

We are seeking a Psychologist to join our growing practice. This is an Independent Contractor position with flexible hours. Our practice provides a variety of services including therapy to individuals and families, as well as psychological evaluations, consultations to schools, parent training, & workshops. Our clientele includes both children (2yrs+), adolescents, and adults. The preferred candidate is a Psychologist with a Full License. A degree in Counseling or Social Work may also be considered, depending on licensure. A background in School Psychology or Neuropsychology is ideal. We are looking for motivated professionals that possess excellent organizational skills, strong clinical skills, and the willingness to be a collaborative team member.

Requirements:

  • Master’s Degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology or a recognized related field from an accredited college/university
  • Limited License or Full License as a Psychologist, Social Worker, or Licensed Professional Counselor
  • Experience in therapy, assessment, consultation, and K-12 education is ideal
  • Proof of Professional Liability Insurance
  • Experience with evidence-based interventions and best practices
  • Credentialing with 1-3 insurance companies may be required
  • Competency in working with children and adults is ideal

Responsibilities:

  • Provide clinical and consultation services in accordance with the policies and procedures of the American Psychological Association (APA)
  • Provide clinical services such as the diagnosis and treatment of mental illness, psychological testing/assessment, and neuropsychological evaluations; report writing, treatment planning, individual and group counseling, crisis management services, and and other clinical services typically considered within the scope of a psychologist’s practice while under the supervision of the Clinical Director, a Licensed Psychologist.
  • Complete 12-30 billable hours per week
  • Available 2-3 prime time shifts per week (i.e. weekdays after 3pm or weekend days)
  • Provide training on mental health issues
  • Ensure that services provided are in accordance with relevant ethical and professional standards of care
  • Participate in case staffing or care management meetings involving clinical cases
  • Complete and maintain electronic paperwork such as progress notes, client files, billing/insurance documentation, psychological evaluation reports, and intervention plans
  • Maintain an electronic calendar of schedules and appointments
  • Networking & marketing within the community
  • Communicate and meet with the Clinical Director and/or Founder for supervision/oversight and case consultation
  • Use electronic medical records system for calendar, client records, & payment collection
  • Generate content for social media such as blogs, vlogs, social media events
  • Other tasks and responsibilities that may be assigned as necessary

  • Pre-doctoral and post-doctoral supervision can be made available to meet licensure requirements
  • Our office is located in downtown Novi in a Level A professional building. The office is a shared-suite and includes five treatment rooms, two waiting rooms, two conference rooms, and a kitchen.
  • Networking and marketing opportunities exist within the building and the local community
  • We participate in-network with Blue Cross Blue Shield PPO, Blue Care Network and Aetna. Out-of-network billing is available depending on clients’ individual insurance policies.
  • The Founder is a Fully Licensed Psychologist with over 25 years of experience in school and clinical settings

Compensation:

  • Competitive fee split for billable hours and an hourly rate for other responsibilities as agreed upon with Dr. Galvin. Referrals, billing services, marketing, telephone receptionist, administrative support, and many other valuable services along with a beautifully furnished office environment are also provided.
