Animal Assisted Therapy (AAT) incorporates a trained therapy dog into the therapeutic process to help clients feel more comfortable, open, and at ease.
For many clients, having a therapy dog present creates a more relaxed environment, making it easier to communicate, process emotions, and fully engage in the session.
A supportive presence that helps clients feel safe and at ease.
Sometimes it’s easier to open up when it doesn’t feel like traditional therapy.
Animal Assisted Therapy can be integrated into many areas of care.
Animal Assisted Therapy is not separate from therapy—it’s integrated into the work our clinicians are already doing.
Many of our therapists are specially trained in Animal Assisted Therapy and dog handling, allowing them to thoughtfully incorporate Lexie into sessions when it supports the client’s goals.
The presence of a therapy dog can help reduce symptoms, increase engagement, and create a more positive therapeutic experience overall.
A calm and friendly presence in the therapy room
