Good News for Telemental Health!

Telemental Health is Here to Stay!

Earlier this summer, a bipartisan group of Senators introduced a piece of legislation that amended Section 123 of the Consolidated Appropriations Act to remove the in-person mandate of Telemental appointments. Previously, anyone who was seeking mental health help through telemedicine would have to see a provider in person every six months. With the new legislation, those enrolled in Medicare will not only have access to Telemental health, but will not have to fight the burden of creating in-person appointments if they so choose.

Though Galvin Growth Group does not take Medicare insurance, other insurances will follow suit with the new legislation, making it easier for clients to get the best telemental health experience possible!

U.S. Senators Bill Cassidy, M.D. (R-LA), Tina Smith (D-MN), John Thune (R-SD), and Ben Cardin (D-MD) were the Senators to thank for this accomplishment, also known as The Telemental Health Care Access Act of 2021.
