NCSP, DOCTORAL LIMITED LICENSED PSYCHOLOGIST
Dr. Kubek began her career working in a day program supporting young adults with autism spectrum disorder, before earning her Doctorate in School Psychology (PhD) from Loyola University Chicago in 2019. She currently practices as a Limited Licensed Psychologist in the State of Michigan and holds the Nationally Certified School Psychologist credential (NCSP). In addition to her private practice work, she works as a full-time school psychologist in the public school system where she supports youth of all ages. She has several years of experience working in both private and public therapeutic day schools that specialize in treating the needs of youth with emotional and behavioral disorders.
Dr. Kubek enjoys spending time with her family (including her adorable dog Boo Radley), traveling, and trying new recipes.
Dr. Kubek specializes in the treatment of school-aged youth who struggle with emotional and mood disorders (i.e. depression and anxiety), and who experience problems in social and behavioral functioning. She engages a variety of evidence-based practices, including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), to support young people in developing skills in coping to reduce psychological distress and manage behavior. She also has specialized training in trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy and crisis intervention.
As a school psychologist, she also has a strong background in conducting comprehensive evaluations to inform educational interventions that address various academic, behavioral, and social-emotional needs. She has vast experience with school-based consultation as well as with providing psychoeducation to parents and caregivers who may need support in helping their child meet educational success.
