Connor O’Keefe

Connor earned his Bachelor’s degree in Cognitive Science from the University of Michigan in 2023 and his Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from Wayne State University in 2025. He has previous experience working in ABA therapy for two years, and completed his student practicum at Galvin Growth Group before joining the team full time.

Connor grew up in Commerce Township and lives in White Lake where he enjoys spending time with his friends, family, girlfriend, and two dogs on the lake where he plays golf, board games, and soaks up the sun. He loved playing soccer as a child, and now looks forward to his weekly soccer league games in Novi with some of his closest friends. He enjoys staying active regardless of weather or season, and loves nothing more than spending quality time with those he cares about. Connor also takes passion in his community and gives back to it when he can through supporting small businesses, donating food and clothes, and attending social events at his local library in White Lake. He loves his hometown very much and loves giving back to it even more.

Clinical Approach

Connor specializes in working with children, teenagers, and adults who experience anxious feelings, depressive moods, low motivation, poor emotional regulation, and difficulties navigating social lives. His therapeutic approach blends cognitive-behavioral theories with humanistic approaches in order to help clients identify their own goals, create plans to work toward these goals, and achieve a deeper understanding of themselves. Through a collaborative and supportive process, he encourages clients to strengthen their self-awareness and cultivate a more compassionate, balanced understanding of their thoughts, emotions, and experiences, empowering them to respond to difficulties with greater confidence, flexibility, and self-acceptance. Connor is also licensed in sport psychology and works with athletes, coaches, and parents to strengthen mental performance, emotional resilience, confidence, and communication. His work supports healthy development, effective coping, and sustainable success both in sport and beyond.

Connor also utilizes his background in ABA to support children and teens with autism, but he also finds that ABA approaches can benefit children and teens experiencing a variety of challenges. His familiarity with younger generations helps him relate and form alliances with the children and teens he works with, fostering an open and accepting atmosphere in which his clients can express themselves freely and comfortably.

Connor is also licensed to work with Lexie the therapy dog in and out of the sessions. In sessions, Lexie helps provide a warm, welcoming atmosphere for children and adults alike, and she loves belly rubs from anyone who meets her. Outside of sessions, Connor and Lexie enjoy volunteering at local elementary schools to offer students a short brain break to pet Lexie and play with her.
